The Second Meeting of Asian Ostracodologists is to be hosted in Kunming of China during June 27–30, 2016. The meeting includes scientific sessions during June 27–29 and a field trip on June 30. Registration will begin on June 26 and departure will be on July 1. Proceedings of the meeting dealing with fossil ostracods will be published in Revue de Micropaléontologie as a special issue, after peer review.

The First Meeting of Asian Ostracodologists was initiated by Dr. Ivana Karanovic in Seoul in 2014, with about 30 participants from Korea, China, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand. The meeting is to be held every two years. It represents a forum where all aspects of ostracod research are discussed, including taxonomy, ecology, shell chemistry, paleontology, stratigraphy, paleoclimatology, and so on. The meeting aims at strengthening the network among ostracodologists and promoting exchange of information and invention of new ideas. Not only scientists working on Asian ostracods, but also those from other parts of the world, are welcome.

The Second Meeting of Asian Ostracodologists is sponsored by Yunnan Key Laboratory for Palaeobiology, which is affiliated to Yunnan University.

We look forward to meeting with you in Kunming!
